Farmers Market & Friends: A Dinner Diplomacy Event

The World Affairs Council of Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky invites members of the community to join Farmers Market & Friends, a global gathering right at the heart of our local community on August 8 at the Convington Farmer’s Market from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Guests can visit the Council’s booth for fun prizes and enjoy conversation with international delegates visiting Cincinnati to explore strategies to combat environmental crimes.

The delegates are Department of State guests invited to the United States as part of the International Leadership Visitors Program. IVLP participants are nominated by U.S. embassies abroad and represent emerging leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators across the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Since launching in 1940, more than 230,000 delegates have participated in the IVLP, including over 500 heads of state or government, 12 Nobel Laureates, and countless global influencers.

Farmers Market & Friends is funded by the Dinner Diplomacy grant from Global Ties, in partnership with Marriott International. This initiative aims to advance cross-cultural understanding by expanding opportunities for Americans to share meals with global leaders traveling across the United States on international exchange programs.
